Why is the lamp pagoda built with 33 levels?
The 33-tier lamp pagoda draws from traditional Taoist cosmology of the Thirty-Three Heavens.
The 33 Heavens are realms in Taoist scripture, ascending layer by layer toward the highest sacred realm.
Each tier of the lamp tower represents one layer of heaven. As you move upward from Tier 1 to the Top, the position grows closer to the sacred source.
It is not merely a decorative design: this layered structure symbolises gradual ascent, the growth of blessings, and the connection between mortal vows and heavenly resonance.
Devotees may choose a tier according to their own wishes. No tier is “bad”; every lamp receives sincere daily tending by temple practitioners.
